Your PC can send to some screens, but it can't accept a mirror from an iPhone or iPad. Adding software to the PC is the only way — and the phone still needs nothing installed, because AirPlay is already part of iOS.
How it works
Open ScreenSolo on your PC
Both devices need to be on the same Wi-Fi network. That's the only setup.
Tap Screen Mirroring on your iPhone
Swipe into Control Centre. Your PC is in the list, named after your computer.
Your phone appears on the PC
Portrait or landscape, at the phone's own resolution. Add a PIN if you're on a shared network.
Then it goes further than mirroring
Record it
Hit record and the mirrored phone is captured as video, saved to your PC.
Show it in a meeting
Share the ScreenSolo window in Teams or Zoom. No recording needed.
Clean it up with Focus Mode
Strip every toolbar so only the phone is on screen.
Edit by typing
Say what you want changed — "blur my email" — and it happens.

Common questions
What is an AirPlay receiver?
It's something that can accept a screen being sent to it — the way an Apple TV does. Your iPhone already knows how to send; the receiver is the bit your computer is missing.
Does Windows 11 have AirPlay built in?
No. Windows can send to some devices, but it cannot receive AirPlay from an iPhone or iPad. You need software like ScreenSolo on the PC to add it.
Do I have to install an app on my iPhone?
No. AirPlay is already part of iOS. Your PC just needs to appear in the Screen Mirroring list, which is what ScreenSolo does.
Is it free?
Yes, there's a free tier. You can mirror up to two devices at once, and record at 1080p for up to five minutes per recording with a small watermark. Pro removes the watermark and the time limit.
Does it work over the internet, or only on my own network?
Local network only. Both devices have to be on the same Wi-Fi. ScreenSolo cannot mirror a phone that is somewhere else.
Can I record what I mirror?
Yes. The mirrored phone records as video you can edit and export, up to 4K on Pro.
Where do my recordings go?
To your own computer. Nothing is uploaded, and you don't need an account to record.
Does one licence cover my Mac too?
Yes. One Pro subscription covers both Mac and Windows, and features land on both together.
