Cookie policy
We don’t track you.
Simple, transparent cookie practices.
ScreenSolo uses cookies minimally and only for essential functionality. We do not use tracking cookies, analytics pixels, or third-party advertising tags. Our analytics service (Plausible) is completely cookieless and privacy-respecting.
Privacy-Respecting Analytics
ScreenSolo uses Plausible Analytics, a privacy-focused analytics platform that does not use cookies, does not track individual users, and does not require a cookie banner. Plausible provides aggregated insights about site usage while respecting your privacy.
When you click Download, we count it: which installer, the type of browser and device (for example “Chrome on Windows”), the name of the site you came from, and your country and region (for example “United Kingdom, England”). This tells us how many downloads come from people rather than search-engine crawlers or link previews. No cookie is set, and no IP address or anything else that could identify you is stored.
Essential Cookies Only
If you sign in or purchase a subscription, we use essential cookies to:
- Keep you logged in across page visits
- Remember your preferences (theme, language)
- Prevent fraud and secure your account
- Process payment securely via Stripe
These cookies are necessary for the website to function and cannot be disabled. They expire automatically when you log out or after your session ends.
What We Don't Do
ScreenSolo does not use:
- Google Analytics or other analytics trackers
- Facebook Pixel or other ad conversion pixels
- Cookies for cross-site tracking
- Cookies for targeted advertising
- Cookies that follow you across other websites
We believe privacy is a right, not a privilege. We only collect data needed to provide the service.
Local Storage
We may use browser local storage to remember your UI preferences (theme, sidebar state, etc.) on your device. This data is never sent to our servers or shared with third parties.
Your Control
You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though this may limit functionality on the website. Here's how:
- Safari: Settings > Privacy > Manage Website Data
- Chrome: Settings > Privacy and Security > Cookies
- Firefox: Preferences > Privacy > Cookies
- Edge: Settings > Privacy > Clear Browsing Data
