No. ScreenSolo is a desktop app for Mac and Windows only — nothing installs on your phone. Your iPhone mirrors over AirPlay, which is already built into iOS.

On your iPhone, swipe down from the top-right corner to open Control Center. Tap 'Screen Mirroring', then select your computer from the list. When ScreenSolo appears, tap it to connect.

ScreenSolo runs on Apple Silicon Macs (macOS 13 or newer; Intel Macs are not supported) and on Windows 10 and 11 — one codebase, one subscription, the same Free and Pro on both. Any iPhone or iPad running iOS 15 or later can connect via AirPlay.

No. ScreenSolo uses AirPlay, which is wireless. Just make sure your phone and computer are on the same Wi-Fi network.

Yes. Mirror your phone into ScreenSolo, then share the ScreenSolo window in the meeting — everyone sees every tap, live. Flip on Focus Mode for a clean view of just the phone. No recording needed, nothing installs on your phone, and it works on Mac and Windows.

AI runs only when you ask. Drag over any part of the screen with the Smart Extract shortcut (⌘+Alt on Mac, Ctrl+Alt on Windows) for clean, structured text with the tables and lists intact. In the editor, press 'Draft write-up' on any snapshot and AI turns it into a paragraph you can edit, and the AI panel's action bar can build a Session Summary of the whole recording. You can also type what you want — 'blur my email and hide the camera here' — and it's done, with one-click undo. Just need the raw text? Right-click the mirror and choose Copy Text from Screen — free, no tokens.

Free comes with 10 one-time AI tokens to try things out, and they never expire. Pro includes 100 tokens a month that refill at the start of each billing cycle. Need more before the next refill? Buy a top-up of 50 tokens for $2.99; top-ups never expire.

Each AI action — Smart Extract a region, draft a snapshot write-up, generate a Session Summary, or run a typed edit command — costs one token. Undo an edit command within 30 seconds and the token is refunded. Copy Text from Screen (right-click, or ⌘+Shift+drag on Mac / Ctrl+Shift+drag on Windows) is free and never touches your tokens.

Click the record button in the toolbar. Recording saves video and sound as an MP4 file. Free records full 1080p at smooth 30fps with a small corner watermark, for up to 5 minutes per recording. Pro records at your screen's full sharpness (Retina) with no watermark and no time limit.

Key moments become still pictures. Drop a pin, add an annotation, or spotlight a region while you record and ScreenSolo saves a snapshot of that moment — or press K in the session viewer. One recording gives you a video and a set of step-by-step slides you can scrub through in your session archive.

With Pro, you can use the annotation tools during a recording to draw freehand lines, add spotlights, pin markers, or highlight areas of the screen. These annotations appear in the recording. Snapshots, zoom mode and pin markers are available on the free tier too.

Smart Capture films every click like a pro. It zooms in on every click automatically, and one dial makes every zoom stronger or softer at once. Effects sit on top of your recording, not inside it — change or remove any of them after you stop.

Free recordings carry a small ScreenSolo mark in one corner and run up to 5 minutes each. Everything else is full quality — 1080p, smooth 30fps. Pro removes the watermark and the time limit, and records at your screen's full sharpness.

On Pro, yes — it's a layer. Record your whole screen with Smart Capture's Animate clicks on and the mirrored iPhone records as its own track: move it, resize it, hide it or feature it in the editor, add a device frame that exports, or just type it — “hide the iPhone at 0:10”, “feature the phone”. The camera works the same way: switch it on mid-recording and it becomes an editable layer from that moment. On Free, the phone and camera are baked in exactly as you saw them on screen.

One recording, ready for YouTube, TikTok, or a square feed — MP4 up to 4K in widescreen (16:9), vertical (9:16), square (1:1), or its original shape. It warns you if a size would look blurry.
