What Data We Collect
ScreenSolo collects minimal data to provide and improve our service:
- Account information (email, name) for authentication
- Session metadata (duration, features used, timestamps)
- Subscription and payment information (processed via Stripe)
- Device information (OS version, hardware type)
- App usage analytics (feature adoption, errors)
How We Use Your Data
Your data helps us:
- Provide and maintain ScreenSolo
- Process payments and subscriptions
- Improve app performance and features
- Send support and account updates
- Detect and prevent fraud or misuse
Screen Recordings & AI Analysis
Important: Your screen recordings and sessions are stored entirely on your device — never uploaded to our servers unless you explicitly share them.
When you use AI analysis features:
- Screenshots or content are encrypted in transit to Anthropic
- Anthropic (our AI provider) does not store or train on your data
- Analysis results are cached locally on your device
Third-Party Services
ScreenSolo integrates with a small set of trusted services to deliver core functionality:
- Anthropic (Claude AI): For AI analysis and content generation. Anthropic does not store or train on your data.
- Stripe: For secure payment processing. See Stripe's privacy policy for details.
- Sentry: For error reporting. Stack traces and request metadata only — never your content or session media.
- Railway: Our infrastructure provider for hosting the API and database. Data resides in EU-West regions.
Exporting Your Sessions
When you export a session, ScreenSolo writes a file to your own device — a PDF, an MP4 video, or a PowerPoint (.pptx) or Keynote (.key) deck. The file is saved locally and is yours to share however you choose.
Exporting does not send your session to any third-party platform. If you later upload an exported file somewhere yourself, that platform's own privacy policy governs what happens to it.
Data Retention
We retain account and usage data for as long as your account is active. Session metadata is retained for 90 days. You can request deletion of your data anytime by emailing support@screensolo.ai.
Your Rights
Under GDPR and similar regulations, you have the right to:
- Access your personal data
- Request correction or deletion
- Export your data in a portable format
- Opt out of marketing communications

Legal Basis for Processing
We process your data on the following legal bases:
- Consent: For marketing communications and optional analytics
- Contract: To deliver ScreenSolo services and manage subscriptions
- Legitimate Interest: To improve the service, detect fraud, and ensure security
- Legal Obligation: Where required by law
International Data Transfers
ScreenSolo integrates with international service providers:
- Anthropic (US): AI analysis features. Data transfer is protected by Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs).
- Stripe (US): Payment processing. Data transfer is protected by Stripe's compliance with applicable regulations.
These transfers comply with GDPR Chapter V requirements and adequate safeguards are in place to protect your data.
Children's Privacy
ScreenSolo is not intended for users under 13 years of age (or the minimum age required by applicable law in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we become aware that a child has provided personal data, we will take steps to delete such information promptly.
Data Breach Notification
In the event of a data breach that poses a risk to your privacy, we will notify affected users without undue delay (within 72 hours of discovering the breach, where legally required) and provide information about the breach and the steps we are taking to address it.
Updates to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. We will notify you of material changes by updating the date at the top of this page or by sending you an email notification. Your continued use of ScreenSolo after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
Account Deletion & Grace Period
When you request to delete your account, we provide a 30-day grace period during which you can restore your account. After 30 days, all associated data is permanently deleted from our systems. During the grace period, your data remains encrypted and inaccessible.
