Two releases over the summer turned ScreenSolo from a recorder into a recorder you can polish. Here’s what shipped.
The editor
Every recording now opens on a timeline where each effect is a chip — drag to move it, stretch to make it longer or shorter. Your camera is a layer on top of the recording, not baked into it: move it, resize it, or hide it after you stop. Add text banners, backdrops, cursor styles, and region blur for anything private. Nothing is destructive — the preview is exactly what exports.
Direct the video
Type what you want — “blur my email and hide the camera here” — and it’s done, with one-click undo. Each request costs one AI token, refunded if you undo within 30 seconds.
Export presets
One recording, ready for anywhere: MP4 up to 4K in its original shape, widescreen (16:9), vertical (9:16) or square (1:1), with a warning if a size would look blurry. Or turn the same take into a PDF, Keynote or PowerPoint guide. Everything saves to your computer.
A guided first recording
A short in-app wizard now walks you through your first take — pick a source, check your sound, record, and see what the editor can do. Two minutes, then it stays out of your way.
