Requesting deletion

Account page → Manage subscription → Delete account. We don't have a separate "click here to delete" button anywhere else — to make sure deletion is deliberate.

You'll see a confirmation dialog showing:

  • What gets deleted (your account, sign-in identity, token balance, and AI-usage history)
  • What stays (your recordings — these never left your device, ScreenSolo's deletion can't reach them; you can delete them yourself from your filesystem)
  • The 30-day grace period

Confirm by typing your email. Account is marked for deletion but not yet purged.

During the 30-day grace period

  • Your account exists but is suspended — you can't sign in to ScreenSolo for the AI features.
  • We send one reminder email at the 25-day mark.
  • To restore: just sign back in. The deletion is cancelled and full account access resumes.

After 30 days

  • Your account row is hard-deleted from our database.
  • The AI-usage audit log gets anonymised (your user_id is nulled out) and retained for an additional 12 months for aggregate stats and abuse-prevention. After that it's hard-deleted too.
  • Payment records are retained for 6 years as required by UK tax law (HMRC).

What's not deleted

  • Recordings on your filesystem — we never had them
  • Anything you exported as .pptx, .key, .pdf, .mp4 — yours, kept by you.

GDPR data export

Before deleting (or instead of, if you want a copy first), request a data export via the same account page or by emailing support@screensolo.ai. We respond within 30 days with a JSON archive of everything we hold tied to your account.
