How eligibility is determined
It's automatic from your email — no documents, no upload, no separate verification service. You qualify if either:
- you sign in with your school's Google Workspace for Education or Microsoft 365 Education account — we read the institution's domain straight from the sign-in, or
- your email domain looks academic — it contains
.edu,.ac.uk,.sch, a USk12.<state>.us, a country-coded.ac/.edu/.sch(e.g..edu.au,.ac.nz), or the word school or academy (sostudent@myschool.organdstaff@stmarys-academy.comboth qualify).
If your domain matches, the −30% applies automatically at checkout. Signing in with the account your school gave you is the surest route.
Claiming it
Sign in with your school or university email on the pricing page. If your domain qualifies you'll see an "Education −30% applied" panel — prices show the original struck through next to the discounted figure, on both Pro and the Teams seat calculator. If your email isn't recognised as academic, sign in with your institution account (or use a qualifying school email) and the discount applies automatically. Standard pricing is here either way.
What the 30% applies to
- Pro — the whole subscription, at 30% off. Because AI is included in Pro, your AI features and monthly token allowance are covered by the same discount.
- Teams — every seat at the education rate, so a school or department can buy in bulk and invite staff and students from one console instead of verifying seat by seat.
How long it lasts
While you stay eligible as an education user. Eligibility is re-checked periodically, and the exact terms are confirmed at checkout when we detect your school account.
