The Free plan is for trying ScreenSolo and for short jobs. Here's exactly where its limits are, and how they're counted.

The limits at a glance

  • Mirroring — up to 5 minutes per session, and 5 sessions a day
  • Recording — up to 5 minutes per recording, and 5 recordings a day. Screen, window, region and iPhone recordings all count
  • While you mirror — a small ScreenSolo logo sits in the bottom-right corner of the phone, with a countdown beside it
  • Recordings — a small "Made with ScreenSolo" mark in one corner
  • AI — 10 one-time tokens

One iPhone or iPad mirrors at a time — that's the same on every plan.

No limit on how many recordings you keep, on annotations, or on Copy Text from Screen.

When the counts reset

At midnight on your computer's clock. The counts are kept on your computer, so they work without an account — signing in to a Free account doesn't change them. Every iPhone or iPad that mirrors to this computer shares the same 5 sessions.

The pill at the top right of ScreenSolo shows how many mirroring sessions you have left today. Hover over it to see both counts.

What counts

A mirroring session counts when your phone connects. A session that ends within 30 seconds is given back — it doesn't count — so a quick try, or a connection that didn't work, doesn't use up your day.

A recording counts when capture starts, after the 3-2-1 countdown. Cancel during the countdown and it costs nothing.

The 5 minutes is recorded time. Pause a recording and the clock holds — paused time doesn't count, and the paused part is left out of the video. See How recordings work.

When time runs out

  • Mirroring: the countdown turns red in the last minute. At zero, ScreenSolo disconnects your iPhone and shows how many sessions you have left today — reconnect from Control Centre to carry on.
  • Recording: at 5 minutes, ScreenSolo stops the recording and saves it.
  • Recording while mirroring: the mirroring limit never cuts a recording short. The session stays open until you stop recording, then your iPhone disconnects and the recording opens for review.

Once today's 5 are used, ScreenSolo says so — Today's free mirroring is used or Today's free recordings are used.

On Pro

Pro has no time limit, no daily limit, no logo and no mark — upgrade mid-session and the countdown and logo go straight away. On Pro or a Teams seat and still seeing the countdown? Check you're signed in on this computer.
