If your iPhone stopped mirroring without you asking it to, it's almost always one of these.

1. The Free session's 5 minutes ran out

On the Free plan, each mirroring session lasts up to 5 minutes. The countdown beside the small logo in the bottom-right corner of the phone shows the time left, and turns red in the last minute. At zero, ScreenSolo disconnects your iPhone.

If you have sessions left today — the pill at the top right of ScreenSolo says how many — reconnect from Control Centre → Screen Mirroring to start another.

A recording in progress keeps the session going until you stop it — the mirroring limit never cuts a recording short. When you stop recording, your iPhone disconnects and the recording opens for review.

2. Today's 5 free sessions are used

After your fifth session of the day, ScreenSolo still appears in your iPhone's list. When you pick it, the iPhone connects and is disconnected straight away, and ScreenSolo shows Today's free mirroring is used. The count resets at midnight on your computer's clock. See Free plan limits.

3. The iPhone stopped it

  • Someone tapped Stop Mirroring in Control Centre
  • The iPhone locked — auto-lock can end mirroring. For long sessions, set Settings → Display & Brightness → Auto-Lock to a longer time

Unlock the phone and reconnect from Control Centre.

4. The Wi-Fi dropped

If either device lost Wi-Fi or switched networks, mirroring stops. Reconnect from Control Centre — on Free, that starts a new session with a fresh 5 minutes. If ScreenSolo isn't in the list, see AirPlay isn't showing up on my iPhone.

Frozen, not stopped?

If the iPhone says it's still mirroring but the picture on your computer is stuck, see My iPhone mirror froze after reconnecting.
