When ScreenSolo captures a snapshot, Claude can draft a short paragraph describing what's on screen — useful as the starting point for tutorial notes, bug reports, or a written narrative of the session. The whole batch can then be rolled up into a single Session Summary.

AI snapshot write-ups

Open a recording, switch to Guide (⌘2), and pick a snapshot in the Story rail. Above its write-up, click ✦ Use AI context · 1 token. Claude reads the snapshot (plus anything you've already written) and returns a paragraph in the write-up editor.

The text is editable — tweak the wording, add context the AI missed, delete a sentence. Edits auto-save back to the session folder. Re-running the AI replaces the current draft, so keep a copy if you've heavily edited before regenerating.

One token per snapshot drafted. Editing an existing write-up is free.

Session Summary

Once you've got write-ups (or even without — Claude can work from snapshots alone), open the Director in Guide (⌘K, or Ctrl+K on Windows). Its Write-up card has two scopes: Per-snapshot and Whole session. Choose Whole session and press Generate recap — or click the summarise the session suggestion.

This is a multi-image call — Claude sees a spread of up to five snapshots from across the session, with your write-ups, and writes one narrative across the lot. The summary becomes the cover of your Guide exports, and Copy recap puts it on the clipboard. Good for:

  • A post-call recap of what was demoed
  • A QA write-up of a long repro
  • The first draft of a tutorial article before you edit it

One token per summary, regardless of session length. Re-running with edited write-ups costs another token.

Focus hints (behind the scenes)

If you've edited a snapshot write-up to call out something specific — "this is the bit where the timer resets" — the backend uses your write-ups as focus hints when it generates the Session Summary. There's no separate button for this; it just runs whenever there are write-ups to read. (✦ Polish this recording, in the Director's Video view, is something else — a plan of edits for the video. See Direct the video.)

Where the text lives

Write-ups and summaries are saved in the session folder, alongside the snapshots. They travel with the session — copy the folder to another machine and the write-ups come with it.

What you need

Available to everyone — Free and Pro. It just costs tokens. Free's 10 one-time tokens are enough to try the feature; Pro refills 100 every month (see What an AI token actually buys you).
